Makeup Transformation | Step By Step

Hi friends, welcome back! Today I'll be sharing a makeup look which I created for one of my friends, Trish, who basically asked me to come up with a look that would make her go "Wow, is that really me?" when she looked into the mirror. I'm by no means a professional makeup artist but I did have a lot of fun creating this look for her, especially since she's the type of girl to rarely wear any makeup. I decided to go for a more natural finish with a gold smokey eye and bright red lip to compliment her navy dress and gold accessories. Now, let me show you how I created this look!
  1. Starting out with a clean canvas, I applied The Body Shop Mattifying Day Cream to hydrate her face, insuring that I covered the entire face and also neck.
  2. I mixed my L'Oreal True Match foundation in W4 and MAC Prolong Wear concealer in NC30 to get her perfect shade and proceeded to apply this all over her face with a damp beauty blender. I think the beauty blender gave her a really natural finish which is what I was going for! (First photo)
  3. Grabbing my Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Light, I applied this underneath her eyes, on the nose bridge, on the chin and also a little on her forehead to brighten up these areas.
  4. Using the Face Of Australia Translucent Loose Powder, I applied this over the areas that I highlighted, making sure that it was set and wouldn't budge throughout the night.
  5. To mattify the face, I opted for my L'Oreal True Match pressed powder and even distributed it to the rest of her face, dodging the areas that I highlighted earlier.
  6. Going on to the brows, I used my Sigma Brow Duo in Medium and filled in her brows, following her natural brow shape (which in my opinion, looks freakin' great on her).
  7. Moving onto the eyes, I used the Benefit Stay Don't Stray eyelid primer and swiped these across her eyelids and also bottom lash line. Applying primer not only extends the longevity of the eyeshadows but also emphasises the colour, making it look more true and vibrant.
  8. From the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, I picked up Booty Call which is a nice gold shade and applied this all over the eyelid and stopped just a little under the crease. Next I used Tease which is a neutral matte brown to blend out the edges of the gold and start creating a soft smokey effect. Then taking Sandstorm which is a super dark matte brown from the Stila 'In The Light' palette, I began by creating an outter V and smoking out the shade until I was happy with the final look. Taking a clean blending brush, I proceeded by just going over the edges of the eyeshadow and ensure that everything was nice and blended. After that, I took Foxy a nice matte cream shade from the Naked 2 and applied it to her brow bone and lastly took Half Baked and applied it to her inner tear duct to add some brightness.
  9. Taking the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, I lined her eyes and also flicked it out at the ends to create a nice cat eye. After curling her lashes, I applied a nice set of false lashes that winged out on the corner which looked absolutely stunning on her! I think it pulled the eye look together. Applied a little mascara to her top and bottom lashes then we were done!
  10. After the eyes were the lips, I carefully traced her lips with a red lip liner from Face Of Australia and then mixed Revlon's Raspberry Bite (a deep red) and Liptember Red (classic warm toned red) to get the perfect red lip.
  11. I also applied Too Faced Chocolate Soliel bronzer before hand to her temples, cheek bones and jaw line to give her a little more colour. For blush I used Sleek Rose Gold from my Face Form palette and noticed that it was a little too shimmery for my liking on her skin so I opted for MAC's Fluer Power blush and applied it on top to tone down the shimmer.
  12. Last but not least, a little highlight on top of the cheekbones, on the cupid's bow and on the nose bridge to complete the look. I used The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer to achieve this look!
The second last photo was taken with a flash and the last photo was taken in natural lighting. Overall, I think the look turned out and I really hoped she liked it! If you guys like these kinda posts, be sure to comment down below! Here's a before and after shot.
